Lotto Powerball Winner In For $5.3 Million Fright of their Life

30 October 2010

It’s the night before Halloween, but our newest Powerball winner will most likely have the biggest fright tonight when they discover they have won $5.3 million tonight, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive Todd McLeay.

The win comes just two weeks after the biggest Lotto Powerball prize in NZ Lotteries’ history was won after a 16 week jackpot run, with a massive $28.7 million being paid to a pig hunting South Auckland father.

Tonight’s winning Lotto Powerball ticket was sold at Bell Bird Dairy and Lotto in Manukau and is worth a total of 5,333,333 million, with $5 million from Powerball First Division and $333,333 from Lotto First Division.

Two other players also won a $333,333 share each of Lotto First Division tonight. The winning tickets were purchased Manners Mags and Lotto in Wellington and the Halfway Store in Whakatane.

Strike Four was also struck tonight by a player in Hawera, winning $142,089.  The winning ticket was sold at @Your Office and Lotto.

Meanwhile, Diane and Neil Gunn from Wellington spun and won $200,000 on the Winning Wheel at the live draw in Wellington this evening.

Tonight’s Winning Wheel ticket was bought at Paper Plus Kaitaia. The serial number is 888-05414683-20XX.

“Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet."

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy.
