This was the first time 42-year-old Hau Kirkwood, his wife of 22 years Lynn, plus 15-year-old son Hau Jr, had been in a plane, been to Wellington, their first stay in a hotel, and their first honeymoon!
“We never had a honeymoon, so this is a bit like one!” says Lynn. “Before the draw, the idea of $100,000 to us was like winning $1 million – so this is absolutely fantastic,” says Lynn.
As part of the Winning Wheel prize package, Hau and Lynn enjoyed a luxury stay at the Duxton Hotel in Wellington, a shopping trip with a stylist for an outfit to wear on the show, and lunch with Lotto presenter Kyllee King-Turner.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their tickets at any lottery outlet.
Tonight’s Winning Wheel ticket was won by a player who bought their ticket from Civic Video & Lotto Kerikeri. The serial number is 615-61400322-20XX.
“Anyone who bought a ticket at this retailer should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it as soon as possible,” Mr McLeay says.
