The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, chose her numbers for her MyLotto ticket by using family member’s birthday dates, and today claimed $1,019,246 – made up of the weekend’s Lotto First Division and a share of the Second Division prizes.
She says when she eventually saw the winning numbers late on Saturday, she had a sleepless night, because she wasn’t certain they were hers.
“I’d bought my ticket online, but couldn’t print it because the ink cartridges were empty, so when I caught a glimpse of the numbers after the draw I was pretty sure they were my numbers.
“First thing Sunday I then checked my account, and sure enough there was the proof – although I still don’t really believe it,” says the happy winner.
“I’m going to give some to my children, and I’ll buy something special for myself – perhaps a beautiful ring I’ve had my eye on for a long time.”
Meanwhile, a jackpot for Powerball means that the First Division prize has grown to a massive $4 million, and Strike Four has jackpotted to $200,000 for this weekend’s draw.
