The two sisters, who wish to remain anonymous, walked into the Wellington office today, and after the prize claim formalities and then some celebratory bubbles, walked out quite a bit richer!
Both are regular Lotto Combo players and have been buying Combo tickets since they first started playing Lotto.
“All our numbers are significant to us, such as birth dates and anniversaries,” says one of the happy winners.
“I was doing the dishes when the Lotto draw came on TV, I watched as our numbers came up, and just as I went to call my sister the phone rang and it was her yelling that we had won!”
The lucky duo plan to spend their winnings on overseas trips and investments.
“The credit card limit might need to be extended now though, so we can spend a little more on presents when we’re overseas,” laughs one of the women.
The winning ticket was bought from local Lotto shop Aramoho Mags and Lotto – making this its seventh Lotto family First Division prize.
On Saturday six lucky winners shared Lotto First Division, winning $166,667 each, while Powerball jackpotted to a massive $5 million for next week’s draw.
