Winning Wheel

Gisborne / Te Karaka locals, Whai and Kathy, were on the live Lotto draw on 26 February 2011.

Whai spun the wheel, and he had Kathy to thank for it - she gave him the winning ticket as a Christmas present!

Whai and Kathy are custodians for the Whirikoka TWOA Campus in Gisborne, but outside of work, Whai enjoys crossword puzzles, gardening, fishing, playing rugby, and socialising at his local RSA club.

Whai and Kathy were planning on using their winnings on doing up their house and having a holiday, as well as putting money into trust for their grandchildren's schooling.

Te Rongopai Marae in Gisborne received Lottery Grant funding to help upgrade the marae, check out how awesome it looks in the video.
